Szass Tam?

Is there any artwork of Szass Tam?  Does he have any living relatives?

Elminsters Tower and The Twisted Tower of Ashaba

This is Shadowdale and the relative locations of Els Tower and The Twisted Tower.  Ace was asking about them so I thought I'd post it.

Also note that I may have misspelled Shadowdale in previous posts as Shadd...

More from Szass Tams Library

There were numerous notations and comments regarding Earth Nodes in the land of Cormyr. Most concentrated Szass had ever seen. At least ten with locations NOT named except that they were within the borders of the Obarskyrs realm. He mentioned with great interest.

I PSd Aramis into an Eladrin.

Gave him some Eladrin eyes and some magic. OK?

The Story Unfolding...

Some of the Szass Tam facts emerging from the Library thanks to Aramis.

  • Research shows that Szass Tam was the second Undead. Name the first (alpha) undead.
  • Magic had not grown or changed for 1000s of years until SzT broke the rules.
  • Focus Magic. Szass Tam discovered and perfected the use of what he called "Focus Magic". He would use a gemstone (the harder and clearer the better; hence diamond) and cast a particular spell into it (This caster known as the "Name" caster). At the same time other wizards (up to 30 called "Power" casters) cast a low-level power sharing spell (SzT created) into the Gem as well. This would create a higher more powerful version of spell than the Name was casting. Example: 5th level wizard could Name cast a fire ball into a gem he holds in hand, and with the help of 10 other 1st level Power casters (within 5 feet x their level of the Name caster) would create a 15th level fire ball. The magic fully directed by the Name caster. Szs Tam hid this for ages. Until now. Can Aramis learn how to use it??

Rego is posting....

Hi gang,
You will notice a member of this blog called Rego. This is the person who used to run him in our game. I invited John M. to join the blog. He accepted.

Just want to add a hearty Well Met to John and "Rego".

The Drow Monk!

"So I was walking down the street one afternoon and this Drow walked up to me and asked if I could spare some coin.
I said no. So he killed me".

                                      Added the original for comparison.

Bill, thanks for sending these to me. I think the face on ponytail looks like a Drow. You showed me ponytail at the game 1-15. I think he is Alak. I'm will PShop him into a Drow and post the change.

Is this cool or what....

So THOT, do you think a blog is useful? Interesting? Useless?

Need your input here. The more interested you are the more I will develop this page. Not interested? That's OK too...if you're a slacker! Yes, I get to post my opinion too.

A new FR book. Last session THOTs and more.

Well Met,

Got the new Forgotten Realms book by Ed Greenwood. Greenwood created the world back in the 60s and started using it in D&D in the early 70's. This book mentions Tyr in it. The other FR world books don't because in those iterations of the FR world Tyr (and some other Gods) are dead and the spellplague and you know this...
The book is VERY useful and it's contents will find their way into the game. It's here if you want to read it.

Session 1-15-13

Well Met!

I enjoy writing stories and then, in a framework of rules, see how that story plays out with actual people playing the roles. I use a game called Dungeons and Dragons as the rules framework. I also use a fantasy world created by author Ed Greenwood (and widely used with D&D) called "The Forgotten Realms" as a base for my (our) stories.

You guys already know this.

This Blog is to serve two purposes.
  1. To give you, the players, an opportunity to add your notes and/or comments about the STORY with the Characters and/or Players view.
  2. Talk D&D the GAME.
This is a private blog and is not open to anyone but who's email is on the security list. Right now that is all the players in THOT. Also known as "The Hand of Tyr". However, for use in this blog THOT will also stand for "Tuesday Heroes Online Tales"

Oh, one more thing. I may post stuff on the blog that will be useful in the game that can only be found HERE. If you log in and find it and TELL ME, you get 3 perks.

Well Met,
Bob
